We take individual privacy seriously. This Statement explains our policies and practices.


We respect your privacy and we promise:

a)      to implement computer, physical and procedural safeguards to protect the security and confidentiality of the personal data we collect

1.      Information collection

1.1.   In order to provide a better service to you, we may collect information when you register with us, use our services, or communicate with us.

1.2.   We collect information and maintain a database about Great China and overseas companies. In the process, we also collect personal information about individual contact persons of the companies or their employees.

1.3.   If specific information is requested but not supplied, we may be unable to provide the requested service.

1.4.   We only retain personal data for so long as it is necessary. However a copy may be archived indefinitely.

2.      Use of information

2.1.   The purposes for which information may be used by us in and outside Hong Kong include:

2.1.1.       processing of systems and applications

2.1.2.       providing services to facilitate trade between Hong Kong and overseas, and providing enquirers with contact and business information

2.1.3.       our operations, e.g., incorporation into our database, analysis, research and auditing

2.1.4.       our seminars or events, including online seminars

2.1.5.       distribution of EasyTrade publications and research materials

2.1.6.       marketing EasyTrade services or products

2.1.7.       complying with laws in or outside Hong Kong

2.1.8.       legal proceedings, including collecting overdue amounts

2.1.9.       other related purposes

2.2.   We may conduct direct marketing via fax, email, direct mail, telephone and other means of communication, or send e-newsletters to you. You may choose not to receive promotional materials, by simply telling us, and we will cease to do so, without charge.

3.      Disclosure of information

3.1.   We will keep the personal data we hold confidential but may provide information to:

3.1.1.            personnel, agents, advisers, auditors, contractors, financial institutions, and service providers in connection with our operations or services

3.1.2.            our overseas offices, affiliates, business partners and counterparts

3.1.3.            the public, including persons enquiring about Hong Kong companies

3.1.4.            persons under a duty of confidentiality to us

3.1.5.            persons to whom we are required to make disclosure under applicable laws in or outside Hong Kong

3.2.   We cannot control how third parties use information.

4.      Cookies

4.1.   Cookies are commonly used to facilitate transmission and to provide more useful features. It is a piece of data stored in your computer. We use these devices to find out more about the use of our websites and user preferences, in order to improve our services. We may share summarized traffic data with advertisers. We note traffic, pages visited and time spent. You are not identified. However if you agree by registering with us, we may link the information to you, so that you may receive information more suited to your interests.

4.2.   Cookies are necessary for some features of the website to work, e.g., to maintain continuity during a session. If they are not accepted, those features may not work properly.

5.1.   Personal data stored electronically are password-protected. Encryption technology is used on our secured web areas. Our computer systems are placed in restricted areas. We only permit authorized employees to access personal data. These employees are trained on our privacy policies.

5.2.   As a Registered User, your information (include personal, company, trade leads, and products) and payment information (if any) can be viewed and edited through your Account which is protected by password. We recommend that you must not tell your password to third-party. Our personnel will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited e-mail. Remember to sign out of your Account and close your browser window when you have finished your session. 

5.3.   No data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be perfectly secured. As a result, while we try to protect your information, no web site or company, including ourselves, can absolutely ensure or guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk. 

6.      Hyperlinks

6.1.   Hyperlinks to other websites are provided for your convenience. You will leave our website for another location that is not controlled by us. Our privacy policies do not apply to other websites. Please refer to the privacy policies of the other websites.

7.      Changes to Privacy Policy

7.1.   We may update this Statement. The new Privacy Policy statement will be effective immediately after posting. Users agree that all your information posted to EasyTrade will be governed by the latest Privacy Policy.
