Eldis Trade Policy Resource Guide
The Trade Policy Resource Guide offers quick access to key documents, organizations, research themes, discussions and other key resources on international trade. It is more academic but very rich information about trading policies and elements.
The World Trade Organization (WTO)
The WTO is the only international body dealing with the rules of trade between nations. At its heart are the WTO agreements, the legal ground-rules for international commerce and for trade policy. The agreements have three main objectives: to help trade flow as freely as possible, to achieve further liberalization gradually through negotiation, and to set up an impartial means of settling disputes.
Applicable Law
International Trade Law Monitor
Initially hosted by the University of Tromso, Norway, this exceptional resource provides information and links related to international trade law. The ITL presents the full texts and where relevant country implementation details of several of the most important conventions and other documents used in International trade. In July 2000, the site (now called Lex Mercatoria) was acquired by Cameron May, an international law publishing firm. Although the initial free information is still available the site has also become a showroom for the firm's products, and its previously efficient and pleasant navigational structure has been changed.
